Phase I
Phase I of all
licensing processes (including initial licensure, additional
endorsement, and renewal) has a processing time of up to 10-12 weeks.
During our busy season (mid-May through
mid-September) this processing time may increase up to 16 weeks.
New hires
should contact their human resource departments for information about
how the license processing time may affect employment.
Phase I begins within a
few days after we receive your application packet. Your application is
date stamped upon receipt, your data is entered into our database, and
your file is placed in a queue to be reviewed by a Teacher Licensing
Analyst. All reviews are conducted according to the date the application
is received. The length of the processing time is determined by the
number of requests we receive. If your application is received, and
you have not submitted all required forms and fees, the
application may be returned to you.
VERY
IMPORTANT: Due to the heavy volume of applications our office
receives, licensing staff will be unable to provide a status check
of your file or make a determination about your qualifications over the
phone. Please do not call our offices after you have submitted
your application.
Phase II
Phase II begins when
your file progresses to the front of the queue and is reviewed by a
Teacher Licensing Analyst. Once the Licensing Analyst has completed an
initial review of your file, one of the following will occur:
-
You will receive written notice that
a review of your application indicates that you do not qualify for
the license/endorsement that you requested. The fees you have paid
are good for one year. If you have not satisfied the noted
deficiencies within the year, your file will be destroyed; or
-
You have qualified for and will
receive your license with provisions and expiration dates clearly
stated on the document.
