Qualifications:

1. Applicant must hold a Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited postsecondary institution in a field of study for which the applicant will provide classroom instruction, and

2. Applicant must have at least two (2) full-time equivalent years of teaching experience at a regionally accredited postsecondary institution in a field of study or which the applicant will provide classroom instruction and at least three (3) years of experience working in that field. ( Note:  Full-time teaching faculty at a postsecondary institution can use additional teaching experience to meet the field of study requirements.), or

3. Five (5) years of experience working in the field of study for which the applicant will provide classroom instruction, and

4. Applicant must provide proof of passing each subject matter competency test required by NAC 391.036 for the specific subject or subjects for which they will provide instruction.  (Note:  The applicant for the special qualifications license will be required to pass the subject area exam only.  The applicant will have three (3) years to satisfy the requirements for Nevada School Law and Nevada Constitution.),  or

5. The applicant must hold a valid license issued by a professional licensing board of any state that is directly related to the subject area of the Master’s degree or higher and the specific subject or subjects in which the applicant will provide instruction.
