Currently, international students seeking licensure in
the state of Nevada must present an English evaluation (not just a
translation) of their credentials. An English translation differs from
an English evaluation.
The evaluation refers to:
-
the quality of the foreign school
attended
-
the equivalency of the applicant’s
coursework to the appropriate degree
-
the equivalency of the applicant’s
international scores into a U.S. grade (if applicable)
Applicants for licensure who have attended colleges or
universities outside the United States must provide the Office of
Teacher Licensing with a detailed report as to degree
equivalency, as compared to U.S. regionally approved institutions, and a
course-by-course evaluation* of any college or university level
credit completed, from a regionally accredited college or university or
independent nationally recognized evaluation agency, approved by the
Nevada Commission on Professional Standards in Education. The
