General
Instructions
It is the applicant’s responsibility
to review the requirements for the license/endorsement prior
to application. Application fees are non-refundable.
To request an additional
license/endorsement, you must submit:
- A signed Additional Endorsement
Application;
- The $50.00 fee for each
license/endorsement requested; and
- Official transcripts verifying that
you have met the minimum credits needed to qualify for
the license/endorsement. NOTE: Official transcripts
must be submitted with the Additional Endorsement
Application even if you have previously provided them to
the Office of Teacher Licensure.
The Additional Endorsement Application
has a check list and further instructions that should be
reviewed prior to submission of the application.
VERY IMPORTANT: If
you mail your application, it is strongly recommended that
you send it Certified Mail™ Return Receipt to verify proof
of delivery.
You
will not receive a receipt for your licensure fees until we mail your
license. Due to the heavy volume of applications received, office staff
will be unable to pull your file for the purpose of providing you with a
receipt in the event that you mail your application.
If you hold a renewable license issued by
Nevada and otherwise meet the requirements of the
license/endorsement but have a course work deficit of
not more than 6 semester credits/two required course work
areas IN TOTAL for all licenses/endorsements, you
may be issued a provisional license/endorsement which will
be valid for one (1) year from the date of issuance. If you
do not complete the deficit course work within the year, the
license/endorsement will become invalid.
NOTE: The deficit cannot be for
student teaching/field experience/practicum required to
obtain a teaching license.
In most instances, the additional
license/endorsement will expire on the same date as the
original license.
Information Specific to
Certain License Holders
Substitute license holders:
Applicants who hold a substitute teaching
license can submit the Additional Endorsement Application
and fee(s) at any time to add a teaching license. If your
3-year non-renewable license has existing provisions, those
provision removal dates will not change even though the new
license will be extended an additional 3 years. If the
initial testing provisions noted on the substitute license
are not removed by the date indicated, both the substitute
license and teaching license become invalid. Any new testing
or course work provisions required for the teaching license
will reflect the new expiration date.
3-year non-renewable license
holders:
If your license has testing or course work
provisions that have not been removed and you have not
completed all necessary course work required to qualify for
the license/endorsement that you are requesting, you must
submit the additional endorsement application and fee within
one year from the date your 3-year non-renewable license was
issued or you will not be able to add to your license. If
you apply for the license/endorsement within the first year
and qualify to have it added to your license, the expiration
date of the additional license/endorsement and any
additional provisions will be the same as your initial
license (in most instances). If you do not remove all
provisions by the expiration date of the 3-year
non-renewable license, you will not be able to apply for the
renewable license. NOTE: No license holder may have a course
work deficit great than 6 semester credits/two course work
areas total for all licenses/endorsements issued.
You may add additional licenses/endorsements for which
you fully meet requirements at any time within validity of the 3-year
non-renewable license. The expiration date will not change.
Alternate Route to Licensing (ARL)
3-year non-renewable license holders: You cannot add
any license or endorsement to an ARL license.
