To
receive a secondary license, a
person must hold a bachelor's degree
and have completed:
A. A program of preparation for
teaching in the secondary grades
approved by the State Board of
Education; or
B. Required courses for a
teaching major from a regionally
accredited institution; and
C. Twenty-two (22) semester credits
in professional secondary or
occupational education, as follows:
1. Eight (8) semester credits of supervised
teaching;
2. A course in the methods and materials of
teaching a field of specialization;
and
a. Nine (9) semester credits in
professional occupational courses,
including 3 semester credits in
cooperative education, except for
home
economics, industrial arts,
and
technology education which requires
6 semester credits in professional
occupational courses; and
b. Two (2) years of verifiable work
experience in areas of endorsement
except home economics, industrial
arts, and technology education.
D. Hold a valid license in the
occupation for which the person is
applying for endorsement, if a
license is required by state law to
provide services to the general
public. |
