Comprehensive Major

Thirty-Six (36) semester credits in instrumental music must include: 

1. Twenty-four semester credits which must include at least 3 semester credits in each of the following:   

1. Music theory;

2. The history or literature of music;

3. Applied music in instrumental music which must be in an area of specialization; and

4. Piano; and

2. Twelve semester credits which must include at least 3 semester credits in each of the following: 

1. Conducting;

2. Music ensemble; and

3. Techniques and pedagogy for brass, woodwind, string and percussion instruments.

Comprehensive Minor

Twenty-Four (24) semester credits in instrumental music must include: 

1. Fifteen semester credits which must include at least 3 semester credits in each of the following: 

1. Music theory;

2. The history or literature of music;

3. Applied music in instrumental music which must be in an area of specialization; and

4. Piano; and

2. Nine semester credits in the following:   

1. Conducting;

2. Music ensemble; and

3. Techniques and pedagogy for brass, woodwind, string and percussion instruments.
