Comprehensive Major

Thirty-Six (36) semester credits in instrumental and vocal music must include: 

1. Twenty-four semester credits which must include at least 3 semester credits in each of the following:   

1. Music theory;

2. The history or literature of music;

3. Applied music, including training in vocal and instrumental music;

4. Piano; and

5. Techniques and pedagogy for brass, woodwind, string and percussion instruments; and

2. Twelve semester credits which must include at least 3 semester credits in each of the following:  

1. Conducting;

2. Music ensemble; and

3. Choral literature, diction or vocal techniques and pedagogy.

Comprehensive Minor

Twenty-Four (24) semester credits in instrumental and vocal music must include: 

1. Fifteen semester credits which must include at least 3 semester credits in each of the following: 

1. Music theory;

2. The history or literature of music;

3. Applied music in vocal and instrumental music; and

4. Piano; and

2. Nine semester credits in the following:   

1. Conducting;

2. Music ensemble;

3. Techniques and pedagogy for brass, woodwind, string and percussion instruments; and

4. Choral literature, diction or vocal techniques and pedagogy.
